Obituary of Jim Ford, Sr.
Jim Ford, Sr. 86 passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 20 at Genesis United Methodist Church, 7635 Hulen St. Fort Worth, Texas.
Jim was born on November 2, 1931, in Bristow, Oklahoma to Wendell and Cora Mae Ford. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Jim received his Bachelor’s degree in Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He served as a school administrator in Fort Worth, Mansfield and Keller. Jim loved to camp, fish, outdoor sports, cruising, snow skiing and most of all his family. He also worked as a Camp Ground Attendant at Yellowstone National Park after retiring. He was recently honored to attend the DFW Honor Flight to Washington DC. Jim served as past president of the Skelly School PTA, and past president of the Gainesville Lion’s Club.
His daughter-in-law, Radonna Ford, his parents and several siblings, preceded Jim in death.
Survivors: Wife of 60 years, Connie Ford; children, Jim Ford, Jr. Kim Johnson and her husband Fred, Shelly Ferguson and her husband David, and Lori Richardson; grandchildren, Rick and Ryan Cox, Tim Dutton and Nicole Harden, Shawna Krueger and Bradly Ferguson, Tyler Richardson, Owen Johnson, Niki Lee, Roni Yoder, and Ryan Johnson, 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Masters; and a host of extended family.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in in honor of Jim to: DFW Honor Flight, Alzheimer’s Association, Ronald McDonald House, Genesis United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
