Obituary of Maylo Holliday
Maylo R. Holliday, long time resident of the Fort Worth area. Born on July 6, 1936 in El Paso, Texas and passed away on September 6, 2017.
Survived by loving husband, Richard A Holliday, Sr.; daughters, Maylo Beemon and Melissa Rosario; Step-son, Richard A. Holliday, Jr.; granddaughter, Lauren Castillo; great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Predeceased by parents, Mr. Jesus Hernandez and Mrs. Herlinda Hernandez; and several aunts and uncles.
Maylo Holliday was a retired Accounting Manager for the General Services Administration (GSA). She had served as supervisory Accountant and acting Director of Finance, and was responsible for national GSA accounting programs. She received her high school diploma from Loretto Academy in El Paso, her BA degree from University of Texas-El Paso, and her MA from TCU.
After graduating from UTEP; Mrs. Holliday moved to the Fort Worth area and lived here ever since. She met her husband-to-be in the Fort Worth Federal office building, and they became married for 42 wonderful years.
The couple shared a passionate interest in travel and became familiar with many different cultures and places. Together they visited throughout Europe, all the United States including Alaska and many visits in Hawaii. They drive throughout the 48 contiguous states, as well as much of Mexico and Canada.
Mrs. Holliday was especially fond of Maui. She and Richard made a number of visits; usually staying in a Kapalua villa for several weeks at a time. They also enjoyed Kauai, the big island Hawaii, and Oahu. Of all of her travels, she like Maui the very best.
