Obituary of John R. Davis

John "J.D." Davis, 70, of Fort Worth TX, passed away, Monday, September 11, 2017 at Kindred Hospital of  Fort Worth.

A memorial will be held for him at 5:00 pm, Friday, September 15 at Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home at 6009 Wedgwood Dr, Fort Worth, TX 76133. Burial will be held September 21, 2017 at Prairie Haven Cemetery 1900 E Stanolind Rd, Hobbs, New Mexico.

John was born September 21,1946 in Hobbs, NM to John W and Joy Davis. He graduated from New Mexico Junior College in 1991. On August 9,1996 he married the former Laura Ann Russ in Lubbock, TX. He was a Vietnam War veteran. John enjoyed his 25 years of trauma and critical care nursing, and 15 years in oilfield services. He was an avid golfer that enjoyed working in his yard, hunting, fishing,camping and being in the mountains. He also enjoyed the company of his kids and grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife, Laura Davis of Fort Worth, TX; one brother, Larry Davis and his wife Donna Davis of Fort Worth, TX; four children, Amber Davis of Fort Worth, TX, William Davis and his wife Alicia Davis of Fort Worth, TX,  Jacinda Matthews and her husband Jon Matthews of Albuquerque, NM, Jessica Sterling and husband Jonathan Sterling of Schenectady, NY; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
