Obituary of Mary Hill Frase
Mary Hill Darwin Frase age 94, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on June 25, 2017. Mary was born to Junius B. and May Bryan Darwin on February 17, 1923 in Waco, Texas. She married Melvin Frase on December 10, 1944. Mary was a charter member of Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church. She was very active in her church and community. Mary lived in Waco until the death of her husband in 2003 and then she moved to Fort Worth to be closer to her family. Mary joined Arborlawn United Methodist Church where she enjoyed being a part of the church family. Mary was devoted to family and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Not only did she love her family, she cared about those around her. Mary enjoyed needlework and loved sharing her work with others. She was an avid sports fan. She loved the Texas Rangers and never missed watching a game and was excited that she was able to attend a game of the 2011 World Series. She was a Baylor fan and enjoyed watching Baylor girl's basketball. She was a TCU fan unless her Baylor Bears were playing. She waited every morning for the newspaper so she could work the crossword puzzle and she was working those puzzles up until the day she died.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin H. Frase; her parents; sister, Margaret Russell; brother, Junius B. Darwin; and son, Roger Frase.
Survivors: Mary is survived by son, David Frase and wife Jan; grandchildren, Blair Martin and husband Will, Jessica Frase, Shelby Frase and Sam Frase; great-grandchildren, Ellie Martin and William Martin and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wants to thank Dr. Robert H. Kelly and his office staff and the staff of Stonegate Nursing Home for the care they gave her.
Service: There will be a private burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas.
