Obituary of Gene L. Morrison, Jr.
Gene L. Morrison, Jr., 46 years old, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, April 30, 2017.
Gene was born on September 27, 1970, in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended Western Hills High School where he made many life long friends. Gene worked in the landscaping business for most of his adult life.
Being an only child, Gene was everything to his mom and dad. He took good care of his elderly and health challenged parents. Always the faithful son, his life revolved around their needs. Even when facing his own health challenges Gene never ceased to place their needs above his own.
Through his sweet smile, sense of humor and quirky ways Gene made his way into your heart with little effort. He loved sports but especially football. He collected sports memorabilia and could tell you dates and scores of NFL games played and the winning team from years past. He could quote movie lines and song lyrics with ease. He never met an animal he did not love, especially his little black kitten “Bear.” Gene had a sweet affection for children but a profound caring for those who faced physical or emotional challenges. He had a reputation for helping anyone at any time. Above all, he was a loyal son, family member and friend.
Gene was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lee Parton, whom he loved dearly and uncle, Vick Mayhew. He is survived by his parents, Gene Sr. and Charlene Morrison, cousin Glenda and husband Clayton, Terry, Gary and a host of additional cousins and family members. Special friends of Gene and his family: Maryann, Deetra, Teddy, Dresden, Richard and Fel as well as numerous life long friends. We will all miss his sweet smile.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Buffalo West on Camp Bowie Blvd. - Come and Go from 3 - 6 pm.
