Obituary of Michael Charles Jones
Michael Charles Jones, 51, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on April 29, 2026.
Michael was born on October 24, 1974 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Larry and Doris Jones. He grew up as an altar server at St. Leo the Great Church, attending its elementary school before graduating from Redeemer High School in 1992. He then attended Dillard University for a few years before transferring to Southern University at New Orleans, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 1999, leading to over 23 years of service working in both public and private security.
Michael was a supportive brother to his sister Jennifer and brother-in-law Rashad, as well as a proud, loving uncle to his nieces Kai and Rian. He was a constant presence in their lives, always calling to check in and showing up to celebrate their graduations and milestones. He took immense pride in being a reliable anchor for his nieces and sister.
Michael also loved watching movies and even built up a big collection of his favorites over the years. He was also a reflective thinker who liked to read, ask big questions, and learn about the deeper things in life, including his faith.
Michael will be remembered by neighbors, coworkers, and loved ones as a genuinely nice, polite guy who was always great to be around. With his good manners and great sense of humor, he was simply a likable person who made the world a little brighter for everyone, and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his parents, sister, brother-in-law, and nieces, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and deeply valued co-workers.
