Obituary of Luis Paule Bagang
Luis Paule Bagang, a faithful follower of Christ, devoted husband, loving father, and treasured grandfather, passed peacefully into the presence of our Lord on January 27th at the age of 84. His life was one of purpose, perseverance, and deep, abiding love for God and family.
Luis was born in the Philippines to Fausto and Engracia Bagang. At the tender age of three, he was orphaned when his father, a heroic World War II soldier, passed away. He was lovingly raised by his foster mother, Tining Antonio, and her husband, Pio Banal, who instilled in him strong family values, spirituality, discipline, and moral guidance that shaped the man he would become.
Luis graduated in 1967 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the Philippine College of Criminology. He went on to become a successful businessman in Angeles City, where he was widely known for his diligence, integrity, and leadership.
In his early 30s, Luis met the love of his life, Susana, and the two were married in January of 1973. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, sacrifice, and devotion to family. For the sake of their children and future generations, Luis made the courageous decision to immigrate to the United States with his beloved wife, embracing a new beginning centered entirely on family.
As a husband, Luis loved Susana deeply. Their marriage was rooted in Christ, strengthened through life’s challenges, and sustained by respect, laughter, and enduring love. Together, they were role models of a faithful and loving union.
As a father to his three daughters, Luis parented intentionally and wholeheartedly with wisdom, patience, humor, and joy. Alongside Susana, sacrifices were made and successes were shared. Time spent together, teaching wisdom with a dose of wit and enjoying life, was always his priority.
To his grandchildren, Lolo was a source of warmth, delight, and gentle strength. He cherished each one deeply and took great joy in their lives. His stories, laughter, steady presence, and consistent example will forever live on in their hearts. Many parts of Lolo’s character continue through both his DNA and the example he lived daily.
Faith and service were the foundations of Luis and Susana’s lives. Their churches in Angeles City and later in Fort Worth were central to their community, friendships, and ministry. Helping friends and neighbors was not an obligation but a way of life. Serving the Lord brought them immense joy.
In August of 2023, Susana went home to be with her Savior. Luis was deeply grieved and was never the same. Though his children and grandchildren gave him purpose to continue, he longed to be reunited with his beloved wife. With no illness and no physical discomfort, God graciously granted him that prayer.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Susana Bagang.
Luis is survived by his children, SherryLee Bagang, Jasselle Knox, Winadee Logan, and Stephen Logan; and his grandchildren, Matthew Torres, John Louis Knox, Kai Logan, and Pia Logan.
Though his absence is deeply felt, we grieve with hope, confident in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
