Q: What was one of the qualities of Frederick that you loved most?
A: My favorite quality of my dad was his love for his family and close friends. He would do anything for you. Second favorite quality was his way of delivering a message to someone whom needed to be held accountable. Truly inspirational. Thank you for being my dad and for all your sacrifices.

To my husband Fred, I am sick right now so I am getting help from our daughter Priscilla in writing this. Thank you for being a great man and father to our daughters, as well as greatest grandfather to our grandchildren. Thank you for selflessly taking care of me when no one else could when I got sick. I know I haven’t been easy to tend to because of my forgetfulness and sickness. Thank you being as patient as you possibly can. May god bless you eternally and please watch over us as you always did.

every night I go to sleep and say good night to you. I can’t imagine never being able to speak to you again or hug you again. You’re my favorite person to talk about to my friends and you’ll be my favorite person to talk about to my future family. I can’t express enough how much you filled my heart with love. I’ll miss you grandpa. I look forward to seeing you again. Thank you for being such a good grandpa. - xoxo, chula

Grandpa, I am going to miss you like crazy. You were a remarkable figure in my life that taught me many things spiritually, emotionally, physically, and mentally. I am sick with grief, heartache, and we all ache from the loss of you. I’m going to miss the hours long cap gun fights we used to have in the backyard at your house in my younger days. I’m going to miss the batting practices, I’m going to miss throwing the ball around with you, among other hilarious and memorable things I’ve done with you. I am proud to be of your flesh and blood, and I promise you that I will carry everything that you’ve taught me and shown me throughout my life, and make you proud. I will always remember you, and will yearn for the day I can see you again. You were one in a trillion. You taught me how to live, how to be a man of Christ, and you’ve provided comfort and advice in my times of need and frustration as I went from a boy, to a man. You were a man for God, a husband to your wife, a father to your children, a friend to your friends, a soldier for your country, a brother to your siblings, and a son to your mother. You have achieved greatness in every aspect of life, making it a well lived and well spent one. I am thankful to have been part of your story as your grandson, and I know one day we shall be reunited in paradise. May peace wash over you!

hi grandpa, I just wanted to add that I’ve always enjoyed coming over to spend time with you. I hold every conversation that we had close to my heart. This picture, you told me to have some diet root beer and I believe we were talking about baseball. Listening to you talk about baseball always warmed my heart, so I needed to sneak in a picture to capture the wholesome feeling I was experiencing. I’ll miss seeing you in your recliner and me bending at a 90 degree angle to hug you so that you didn’t need to get up when it was time for me to leave, even though you walked me out the door every time I left anyway. I love you, you’re in my heart forever. - chula

Dear daddy, I have been searching for one of our favorite pictures together and I found one of them tonight! This was at Grandmas apartment in Queens and we were about to go out salsa dancing. I still can not believe you are gone. I will forever have you with me! Love you, Priscilla

My strong abuelo, I will love you forever and you’ll be in my heart through every walk of life. I remember you used to take me to Chuck E. Cheese bc you loved pizza and you enjoyed me getting enough tickets to get a stuffed animal prize. Words can’t express how much of an impact you’ve had on my life, the best grandpa I could ever ask for. I’m so blessed that God gave me someone as special and strong as you in my life. Please watch over us during our trouble times as you did when you were here. I’ll miss you forever. You’re my best friend and biggest supporter. Thank you for teaching me how important faith is and how I can do things as an independent woman to where I can rely on myself first before anyone else. I will carry your strength in life through mine, though I may never be as strong as you, all I can do is try. When you were wiping my tears away in the hospital and I told you to try and get better, you said that “all I can do is try.” And I believe with my whole heart, you did. You tried for all of us and tried for us through the love you had for your family. I’ll miss our talks, please wait for me up there and be the one to greet me when it is my turn to go. I love you grandpa. You’ll always be strong to me. Thank you for being a wonderful grandfather to me and my little brother. No one can replace you in my heart. It’s a privilege to have known you in my life and an even greater honor to be able to carry you with me. You are our strong soldier. I love you always. - xoxo, chula

Fred and I go back to our high school days while living in the Bronx. There was a crew of us who hung together and have kept in touch ‘til our passing days. This includes Carlos, Carmelo, Vincent (RIP), Fred (RIP), and I. Fred and I ventured to enter the Air Force under the buddy system while we were both 17 in 1966, right after high school. Unfortunately, I went in first and it was not until a while later that he was accepted to enter. During g my tour of duty in Vietnam, Fred was stationed in the Philippines. I was able to go and visit him on my R&R, and we had a most wonderful week reminiscing of the old days on the hood. After service Fred went to live in Te as and I returned to live where I was born in Puerto Rico. We went different ways but always kept in touch. I visited him once in Euless on a stop over in Dallas and we spent a couple of days together. Fred had never been to Puerto Rico, although he was a staunch Puerto Rican. He loved the music, culture, but most of all, the food. I invited him to visit the island and he accepted, coming with daughter Priscilla. It was so satisfying to see how much both of them enjoyed visiting. We went many places, and various times Fred became very emotional, feeling for what he had been missing, in not visiting his roots earlier. Since then we have kept in touch and Carmelo and I invited him a couple of times to visit and share with us. Unfortunately, his wife’s health condition kept him from visiting again. Fred is part of our fraternity. He was a brother from another mother and we will truly miss him. May he rest in peace. My heartfelt condolences to all the family.

My brother was a tremendous
example to me all throughout life.
We shared many life moments together. His serious but yet underlying humorous demeanor, was unmatched. I will miss my brothers voice, his caring, his love for baseball, and most of all ,in general, his easy mannerism in communicating with one. I Love you bro.

To my dad,
Some of my best memories are the simple ones — just being near you, talking, laughing, or watching The Chosen, I Love Lucy, The Twlight Zone and Alfred Hitcock movies together. Thank you for teaching me so much, for all the hard work and sacrifices. Thank you for being my dad and for loving me the way you did. I am who I am because of you. Rest easy with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I love you always and will miss you forever.
