Obituary of Gene Raymond Holman

As a Christian, Gene went to be by the side of his Heavenly Father on December 24, 2025. Gene Raymond Holman was born on November 13, 1942, in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Raymond Holman; his mother, Emma Jean Weaver Holman; his brother, Dan Weaver Holman; his sister-in-law, Sally Holman; and his grandson, Blake Evans Nodwell.

Gene Raymond grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Eugene Field Elementary School, Roosevelt Junior High School, and Classen High School, graduating with the Class of 1960. After high school, he enrolled at Central State College and graduated with the Class of 1967.

Gene Raymond had two children, Jennifer Lynn Holman and Jeffrey Gene Holman. Following college, he worked as a sales representative for IBM in the Fort Worth, Texas office for nine years. In 1978, he opened his own printing business in Fort Worth.

Gene Raymond married Paula L. McCarty on November 24, 1990, and they shared 35 years of marriage. He enjoyed making crafts, watching college and NFL football, listening to all types of music, riding his motorcycle, and attending family gatherings. Nature was very important to Gene Raymond, and he loved all of God’s creatures. Feeding birds and squirrels daily was something he especially enjoyed later in life.

Gene Raymond is survived by his wife, Paula McCarty Holman; daughter, Jennifer Holman Nodwell; son, Jeffrey Gene Holman and his wife, Tanya; stepdaughter, Kathy Higgins; stepson, Sean Hills and his wife, Jeanie; sister-in-law, Kay McCarty Ogden; niece, Kayla McCarty; grandchildren, Chase G. Nodwell and his wife, Kelsey, Sydney Lacey, Tyler Holman, Georgia Lacey, Connor Holman, Chance Lacey, Jacob Hills, McKenzie Holman, Morgan Buswell, and Brooke Buswell; and nephew, Cade McCarty. He is also survived by several nieces: Theresa Holman, Mary Kay Phillips, Margaret Reynolds, Susie Murray, and Amy Coon.
