Obituary of Gene Allen Smith, Jr.

Gene Allen Smith, Jr., 62, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on September 14, 2025.

Born on September 6, 1963, in Natchez, Mississippi, Gene was the son of Gene Allen Smith, Sr., and Amelia Smith. A hardworking and proud small-business owner, Gene owned and operated Lone Star Heating & Air Conditioning, where he served customers with honesty, skill, and a servant’s heart.

Generous by nature, Gene gave freely to everyone he met. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, camping, cutting wood, and building a good fire. He cherished time spent with family and friends. Full of life and always ready with a joke, he also enjoyed the theater and possessed a wonderful tenor voice.

Gene is survived by his sister, Darlene Tolbert, and her husband, Clyde; stepmother, Susie Smith; stepbrother, Jake Reeves; and his beloved girlfriend, Heidi.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the physicians, nurses, and staff of Texas Health Harris Hospital for their wonderful care.
