Obituary of Ruby Gail Wynn

Please share a memory of Ruby to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On May 29, 1945, in Independence, Oklahoma, Ruby Gail Miller Wynn was born the youngest of three children to Lueva Davis Miller and Boyd Miller of Custer, Oklahoma. Ruby enjoyed life growing up on the farm with two older brothers, Marvin and Leon (Buzz) before moving into town. She attended and graduated from Thomas High School, where she played basketball and most instruments in the band. She was an accomplished pianist and was the accompanist for all of the solo/ensemble competitions for her bandmates.  She also was a church pianist and organist.

In August of 1963, Ruby married the love of her life, Dale Boyd Wynn, Jr.  They were married just short of sixty years, and together they raised three daughters, Deedra Wynn, Andrea Wynn Sampley, and Amy Wynn.

After attending Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Ruby held several positions as a professional secretary before retiring from the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. After retiring, she and D.B. settled in Fort Worth.

Ruby dedicated her life to her family and church community. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and worked with youth groups.  She attended Falls Creek Baptist Assembly and was always willing to lend a hand.

She loved being surrounded by her family and made sure that all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren knew that they were loved and supported in every way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Boyd Wynn, Jr.; parents, Boyd Winston Miller and Lueva Maude Davis Miller; brothers, Marvin Miller and Leon Miller; sister-in-law, Keren Payne Miller; nephew, James Russell (Rusty) Miller; and niece, Danna Miller Watson.

Ruby is survived by family Deedra Wynn, wife Tammy, Andrea Wynn Sampley, husband Chad, and Amy Wynn; grandchildren, Wynndee Thiessen, partner Charles Coggeshall, Chance Sampley, wife Miriam, Destynnee Wynn, Chavan Sampley, wife Paige, Dakota Wynn, partner Desi’Ray Davenport, Dailon Wynn, wife Carley; great grandchildren, Corbynn (CL) Flanary, Lovela Durgin, Colt Sampley, Aurora Davenport Wynn, Haven Sampley and Luna Sampley; sister-in-law, Darlene Kelly Miller; and nephews, nieces with spouses and children too numerous to mention.
