Obituary of Gregory Scott Mack
On March 5, 1959, Jimmy and Gloria Mack joyfully welcomed their firstborn son, Gregory Scott Mack, into the world. Greg grew up in the historic Morningside neighborhood of Fort Worth, Texas, and was educated in the Fort Worth Independent School District. He attended Morningside Elementary and Middle Schools before going on to Southwest High School, where he excelled as a standout athlete in football and other sports. Following graduation, Greg pursued higher education at Prairie View A&M University.
Throughout his life, Greg explored a variety of careers. He worked as a chef, a limousine driver, and an entrepreneur, demonstrating both his versatility and his entrepreneurial spirit. Greg gave his life to Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir and participated in many ministries. On May 12, 2021, he married Sis. Rosalyn Haggerty Davis, remaining faithfully devoted until her passing. During this season of his life, Greg renewed his commitment to God, and in December 2021, he was ordained as a deacon of Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church. He served faithfully in this role until his own passing on September 4, 2025.
Greg is lovingly remembered by his two sisters, Rebecca Wilson (Donald) and Susan Mack; his two brothers, Jimmy Mack (Damutiris) and Kenneth Mack (Keisha); his cherished niece, Christy Mack; his professed daughter, KaTrina Palimore; his beloved goddaughter, LaTamara Harris; his godson, Sedrick Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Rosalyn; his parents, Jimmy and Gloria Mack; and his two sisters, Lorena Williams and Phyllis Mack.
Greg’s legacy of faith, family, and service will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew him.
