Shane Keenan Nichols, 50, passed away on July 12, 2025, in Kotzebue, Alaska. He was born on May 17, 1975, in Hackensack, New Jersey, to Linda Hamm and Gary Nichols.

Shane proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corps before pursuing higher education. He went on to graduate from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering—a field that matched his sharp mind and curiosity.

A true adventurer at heart, Shane loved to travel and explore. He lived in more than 26 different states and visited countries including Mexico, France, Japan, Korea, Jamaica, and Canada. His journeys reflected his boundless energy, his openness to new cultures, and his deep appreciation for the world around him.

From a young age, Shane was an avid reader. Books were his constant companions, fueling both his imagination and his thoughtful conversations throughout his life. He also had a tender heart for animals—especially cats, which he adored.

Shane was preceded in death by his brother, Lance Nichols. He is survived by his parents, Linda Hamm and Gary Nichols, and a host of family and friends who will remember his adventurous spirit, quick wit, and compassionate soul.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 29, at 10 am, White’s Chapel Methodist Church in Walton’s Chapel, 185 S. White Chapel Blvd, Southlake, Texas 76092. Interment will follow at Grapevine Cemetery, North Dooley Street, Grapevine, Texas.

Shane’s life was defined by courage, curiosity, and kindness. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
