Obituary of Patrick Wayne Wisdom

Patrick Wayne Wisdom, age 68, passed away to his eternal life in heaven to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on May 24, 2025. Pat was born September 24, 1956 in St. Martinville, LA to Horace Wisdom and Jeanette Carline Wisdom.

Pat spent his earliest years in Bayou Chene before the family relocated to St. Martinville, LA where he completed his high school education. On May 29, 1976 he married Norma Nelson and they had four children. Pat and Norma made numerous moves in Louisiana, Illinois and Texas for his career while raising their family.

His career took him to Oklahoma in 2003 and he married Yvonne Petross on December 19, 2010. Another career move in 2012 took them to Texas and he retired in 2016 after a 39 ½ year career in the crude oil industry. After retirement he and Yvonne relocated to Brownwood, TX where they enjoyed time with family, fishing, auctions and antique hunting and Pat’s retirement hobby of metal detecting. Pat loved spending time with his granddaughter Lorelai and keeping up with all of her activities. He was known as Poppy to Lorelai and Yvonne’s grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Yvonne, daughters Stacey and husband Freddy Cavazos, Carla Wisdom, Kelly Wisdom and son Jacob Wisdom, granddaughter Lorelai Auld. Siblings Lee Wisdom and wife Mary, Becky and husband Gerald Blanchard, JoAnn and husband AJ Degeyter, Wendy and husband Michael Perry, sister-in-law Robin Wisdom and former wife Norma Wisdom as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and his bonus family – Yvonne’s daughters Kindi and husband Blake Wood, Danyce Steger and grandchildren Adriana, Saydi, Addison, Emori, Preston and Benjamin.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Jeanette Wisdom and a brother, Gerald Wisdom.

The family will honor Pat’s wishes and not hold any type of funeral service. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network or a charity of your choice.
