Obituary of Robert David Leming

Robert David “Bob” Leming, 93, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on May 18, 2025, surrounded by the love and care of his devoted wife of 62 years, Marilee Leming.

Bob was born on June 13, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to Wallace and Frances Leming. He was a kind-hearted and steadfast man who lived a life marked by quiet strength and enduring love for his family. Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved brother, John “Jack” Leming.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Bob spent his youth in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, working one summer on a Mississippi River barge, and graduating from Central High School. Bob attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri for two years from 1949-1951. In 1951 Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force and was assigned to the Adjutant General’s office where, “I typed orders that sent personnel all over the world and I marched in too many parades.”

Four years later, at the rank of Staff Sergeant, Bob was honorably discharged from the Air Force and resumed his education, completing his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration at the University of Missouri, Columbia.

He eventually moved to Dallas, Texas in 1960 where he went to work for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. as an Accounting Supervisor. In 1970 Bob was transferred to Topeka, Kansas as a Regional Credit Manager for Goodyear. He was awarded the Goodyear Spirit Award in 1988 for his many years of community service. Bob retired in 1995 from Goodyear after 34 years in Overland Park, Kansas.

In 2016, after 46 years of shoveling snow in Kansas, Bob and Marilee returned to the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. Bob enjoyed his dogs, golf, traveling, kept a beautiful yard and was loved by all who were lucky enough to meet him.

Bob is survived by his wife, Marilee, two sons Douglas Leming and his wife Kathy of Southlake, Texas, Craig Leming and his wife Ann of Merriam, Kansas and his daughter Mary Hernandez of Springfield, Oregon. His grandchildren Aaron Leming and his wife Amy of Austin, Texas, Ethan Leming of Dallas, Texas, Katherine Leming and Sarah Leming, both of Merriam, Kansas and Juan Salinas, Gabriel Salinas and Erica Salinas all from Springfield, Oregan. Great grandchild Mia Salinas of Springfield, Oregon and nephew Thomas Leming and wife Debra of Highland Village, Texas.
