Obituary of Ollie Dean Vaughn, Jr
Ollie “Ricky” Dean Vaughn Jr., 70, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025. He was welcomed into eternal rest, reuniting with his beloved wife, Judith “Judy” Vaughn, and embraced by the comforting presence of Jesus Christ.
Born on March 3, 1955, in Omaha, Nebraska, Ricky was the treasured son of his loving parents, Evelyn and Ollie Vaughn Sr. He lived in several places that shaped his life, including Denver, Colorado, Amarillo, Texas and most significantly, Fort Worth, Texas, where he spent many meaningful years and built a home filled with love, laughter and family.
Ricky was a man of many passions. A dedicated football fan, he rooted with enthusiasm for the Denver Broncos but was an even more loyal supporter of the Dallas Cowboys. His other love was cooking and grilling as often as he could, preparing some of the best food you ever tasted.
He found great joy in traveling, especially long road trips from Nebraska to Texas or to Colorado with music as his constant companion. Ricky’s musical taste was a collection of who he was, what he was feeling and as vast as the roads he loved to travel. With the windows down, the radio up, and his voice singing along, he found a freedom and joy that truly defined his spirit..
Above all, Ricky was a family man. He is survived by his beloved children: Melinda (John), Johnnie Catherine, Lorraine, Janet (Cheryl), Deanna (Gary), and Steven. He also leaves behind his dear siblings: Janice, Michael (Glenda), Anita, Beverly, Stephen, and Annie. His legacy lives on through countless grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom he loved more than words can describe.
Ricky was preceded in death by his loving parents, Evelyn and Ollie Vaughn Sr., and by his beloved wife, Judith “Judy” Vaughn, whose memory he carried with deep devotion.
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate Ricky’s life, remembering the joy and love he brought into every room he entered.
