
Obituary of Tammy Kline
Tammy S. Kline went to be with the Lord on May 4, 2025 at her home in Joshua, Texas. Tammy was born on October 21,1962 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Donald Kline and the late Arlene Kline. She was a 1980 graduate of Civic Memorial High School in Bethalto, IL. After graduating from CM, she received a scholarship to Greenville College (now Greenville University) where she had great athletic success on the Panther’s softball, basketball, and volleyball teams. She received a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Greenville College in 1984. In 1993, she was inducted into the Greenville College Athletic Hall of Fame based on being the school’s first woman NAIA All-American Athlete in volleyball while also excelling in softball with four years as an All-District performer and a two-time All-District qualifier. She was noted by her nominating coach to be “A classy athlete whose tremendous ability earned her honor and admiration on and off the court.”
After graduating from Greenville College in 1984 she moved to Texas where she had a successful career as a coach and P.E. teacher at public schools in the Fort Worth area including Aledo, Alvarado, Waxahachie, Burleson, and Joshua, Texas, until retiring in 2017.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Arlene (Heeren) Kline. Survivors include father: Donald Kline of Bethalto, brother and sister-in-law: Jerry Kline and Rose (Schmitt) Kline of San Antonio, TX, niece: Crystal (Kline) Taylor of New Braunfels, TX, nephew: Justin Kline of Seguin, TX, niece: Crystal (Kline) Taylor of New Braunfels, TX, nephew: Justin Kline of Seguin, TX, best friend: Pam Bone of Joshua, TX, and many dear friends in the Fort Worth area.
A Memorial Service will be held in Wood River, Illinois on Thursday, May 22nd, 11:00 am at the Wood River Christian Church before interment at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bethalto, IL.
