
Obituary of Darrin Jerome Byrd
In loving memory, we come together to celebrate the life of Darrin, (DJ) Byrd, 59; born October 29, 1965. He ascended to eternal life April 5, 2025.
Darrin is survived by his mother & father, Martha & Tom Byrd, his sister & brother, Sonja & Jeff Byrd, respectively & a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, & niece.
Darrin was born & remained in Fort Worth, TX during his life. As a young boy, he enjoyed
fun times, dancing & doing the moon walk, robot & pantomiming. Growing up, DJ was incredibly talented.
Growing up he loved sports – Playing little league baseball – he was a left-handed pitcher; fierce competitor in Karate – held 4th Degree Brown Belt and won several state championships.
Darrin enjoyed playing baseball, he achieved a brown belt in Karate, he also enjoyed playing the trumpet.
Darrin loved the arts. He enjoyed dancing, knowing all of the latest moves. He could draw, anything. With his bass voice, he enjoyed singing. He often hummed his favorite songs, as well. He was well versed in various genres of music especially gospel and jazz.
He attended O.D. Wyatt High School. He also was a student at Tarrant County College. Professionally, he was a proud truck driver.
Generally, Darrin was funny and knew how to make you smile.
Although Darrin is no longer in this life, we can be comforted knowing that he is free from the struggles & pains of this earthly life, embraced by eternal love & joy! His spirit touches us & his journey continues in a place of peace. We cherish each memory we hold in our hearts.
