I knew Eddie from high school and interacted with him at several class reunions for my class. In the last few years , Eddie put flowers on Mellie's family graves in Grapevine (her home town) and I supplied him with chocolates from Fredericksburg's Quintessential Chocolates, a shop owned by Mellie's family friend. We saw him in Grapevine and talked with him on the phone on many occasions. Eddie was the greatest!

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Eddie? A: God above blessed us with a man who’s qualities included: First: Kindness's to all people he interacted with. Second: He was a humble man: He worked hard his entire life providing for others with friendship, love, and endless generosity. His heart toward people was always equal, always kind and and always faithful. Third: Ed was a family man. He loved his children and wife endlessly. Forever. No matter what. And shared that unconditional love with his friends and community. His legacy will be treasured forever. Rest in peace Ed.

I was so saddened to hear of “Big Ed’s” passing. I always loved him so much! He was so very kind and had such a big heart. I also loved his laugh and his calm demeanor. One of my best memories of him was when I got the call that R.G. was in a coma in the hospital and not expected to survive. I was at home in Texas with the kids and Rick was out of town. Big Ed called and offered to drive me to the hospital in Tulsa to say goodbye. I’ll never forget him stepping in to help me out. He was a very special and fine man. I send sincerest condolences to Ed, Kim, Mark, Loree, Holly, Casey, Jake, Ashtyn and Emilee and the great grandchildren. You will be in my prayers. Love, Linda Denina

Q: How would you describe Eddie to someone who had never met them? A: Mr. Talley was a true Texas Gentleman in every sense. His had quiet demeanor, but still held a commanding presence, even without speaking. When he spoke, it was normally profound. Rarely did he ever raise his voice. He was a true mentor to me. I am very grateful that I got to meet and know such a great kind man that I could call my friend. In the Elk’s Lodge, he was like a father figure to me and several of us would jokingly refer to him as the “God Father” of the Lodge. I will miss him deeply.
