Obituary of Freda Major

Freda Major, 78, passed away March 10, 2025. 

Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025 at Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 6009 Wedgwood Drive. 

Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Laurel Land Memorial Park. 

Freda is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Billy Major and her precious dog, Tinkerbell.  She was preceded in death by her son, mother and father, two brothers, and one sister. 

A born caregiver, Freda was always selfless, helping others anytime they needed it.  After marrying Billy she became a true sports fan.  She loved camping, boating, fishing and country music - Marty Robbins was her favorite. 

Freda always looked forward to a family gathering, no matter when or where it was.   

Together, Freda and Billy loved to travel during their 44 years of marriage, especially to Nashville, but also many other destinations such as Redwood Forests, Lake Tahoe and Mount Rushmore. 

Most of all, Freda loved most being at home with her husband.  She spent her final weeks in the comfort of her home with those she loved most.
