
Obituary of Ruby Jean Wilson
Mrs. Ruby Jean Wilson was born on December 14, 1949, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to the parentage of L.V. Henderson and Ruby Lee Henderson. Later, she moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where she attended the Fort Worth Independent Schools, graduating from the historic I.M. Terrell in the class of 1968. Ruby received an associate degree from Tarrant County Junior College.
She later met and married Mr. Raleigh Wilson of Fort Worth, and they were joyfully united for 47 years until her demise. She was employed by Southwestern Bell and retired in 2005. She loved fishing, traveling, and visiting the casino.
Her love for God led her to become a member of the Greater Abyssinian Church, where she served as a financial officer and a Deaconess under the leadership of Pastor Ira Dean.
She was preceded in death by her father, L.V. Henderson; her mother, Ruby Lee Henderson; and her son, Derrick Hardeman.
Ruby Jean Wilson surrendered to her Lord and Savior on March 1, 2025, at the Trail Lake Nursing Home, with her family and pastor by her side.
Her love and memory will forever live in the hearts of her husband of 47 years, Raleigh Wilson; her brother, Anthony F. Jones (Nicole) of Houston, Texas; her sister, Winnie Bell (Gerald) of Fort Worth, Texas; her granddaughter, Brittany; and a host of other relatives and friends.
