Obituary of Doris Hunt

Doris Hunt passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, at the age of 76 in Fort Worth, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home, located at 6009 Wedgwood Dr, Fort Worth, TX 76133.

Doris was born on August 29, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas, to George Chandler and Alma Bernice Smith. She attended Kirkpatrick High School and later dedicated many years of service before retiring from Lockheed Martin. Doris found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time with her family and close friends, reading her Bible, watching movies, shopping, and coloring. She had a radiant smile that could light up any room and a kind spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. More than anything, she adored her daughters and cherished every moment with them.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her three daughters, Yolanda Chandler Hill Shaffer, Constant (Christy) Andress-Chandler, and Ericka (Yolanda) Chandler; grandchildren, Nicholas (Brandy) Chandler, Chris Chandler, Dawn Waters, and Bryce Hill; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Chandler, Aiyanna Chandler, Noah Chandler, Ava Chandler, and Nolan Chandler; and nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Chandler; mother, Alma Bernice Smith; and three sisters, Ether Lane Smith, Joyce Chandler, and Willie Faye Smith.

Doris will be deeply missed but will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
