Alfred Lee Wren, Jr., of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on October 11, 2024.

Alfred was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 12, 1936, to Alfred Lee Wren, Sr., and Zelda Woods.

Known by his family and friends as Lee, he attended Paschal High School graduating in 1954 and then attended Arlington State University, the University of Texas and Texas Christian University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1960. He also graduated from North Texas University in 1964 with a Master of Arts degree. Lee married Nancy Heavin in 1958; they were married for 61 years. He began teaching in Fort Worth ISD in August of 1960. He taught at North Side High School until 1978 and then finished his teaching career at Southwest High School retiring in 1995. Lee taught science as well as outdoor education and driver’s ed. Lee was also a Mason.

Lee was a lifelong member of Travis Avenue Baptist Church where he was a deacon and served on many committees. He also loved anything outdoors; most summers were spent camping and hiking in Colorado and Wyoming. He loved to read with his favorite being westerns. Lee also loved his family and enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lee is survived by his daughter Nancy Jacobs, husband Doug Jacobs; daughter in law Kimberly Wren Jacobs, husband Anton Jacobs; grandchildren Brian Jacobs and wife Elizabeth, Emily Christiansen and husband Aaron, Justin Wren and wife Callie; three great grandchildren Mark and Jack Jacobs and Karis Christiansen.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of nearly 62 years Nancy Wren, and son David Wren.
