Obituary of Alan Hall Ponder

Please share a memory of Alan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Alan Hall Ponder, 35, passed away in Grapevine, Texas on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center of Grapevine.

Alan was born in Grapevine, Texas, and he graduated from Grapevine High School in 2006. He also earned his Associate’s Degree from North Lake College. Alan was most recently working as a consultant analyst with Alliance Consulting Group; he previously worked as a team leader with QuikTrip Corporation.

During his life, Alan provided a wonderful complement to his family with his understated and captivating personality. He found great enjoyment from cats, large and small. Alan possessed an inquisitive mind while seeking knowledge and meaning beyond the surface level. Those of us who interacted with Alan always learned from him, and we are forever blessed for having known and loved him.

Alan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Hallaman and Florence Hallaman, and L.E. Ponder and Josette Neri Ponder. He is survived by his many loved ones who cared deeply about him; these included his parents, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces. Those who are left to cherish his memory include parents Karen and Wendell Ponder of Grapevine; brother Warren Ponder of Grapevine and Melissa Ponder of Mansfield, Texas with their sons Matthew Nolan and Travis Lee; brother Ross with his wife Sarah Ponder and their children Lucy, Hank, and Ruth of Sunset Valley, Texas; uncle and aunt Jim and Dawn Hallaman of Sugar Land, Texas with their daughter Brooke Hallaman of Austin, Texas; aunt and uncle Gisele and Robby Hansbrough of Flowood, Mississippi with their daughters Alyssa Gray (with husband Joseph and daughter Madison of Madison, Mississippi), Lindsey Evans (with husband Nash and their children Eloise and Penelope of Dallas, Texas), and Kelley Hansbrough of Grapevine, Texas; uncle Randall Ponder of Baton Rouge, Louisiana with his son Eric Ponder of Euless, Texas; and aunt and uncle Colette and Justin Cox of Madison, Mississippi with their son Max Smith and his wife Meaghan of Hoover, Alabama.

The family would like to thank the staff of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center of Grapevine for their care of Alan during his stay.
