Obituary of Charlotte Patricia Albright
Pat Albright, 80 passed away Friday February 2, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas
Charlotte Patricia Downey Albright was born March 10, 1943 in Granville New York to John Robert Downey and Charlotte Ross Downey. Pat’s twin sister is Margaret A (Peg) Downey and Pamala MacTaggart. Pat graduated from Granville Central High School.
Pat graduated from State University of New York, College at Oneonta earning BS in Education. She taught in New York and Connecticut. Then she accepted a teaching position at Dept of Defense School System at Wurtsmith Elementary on Clark Air Base in the Philippines. During off work times she joined the local Scuba Club to learn how to dive in the ocean. There she met Dave Albright a dive instructor. After their tours completed both returned separately to the US. Dave was employed with the US Army Corps of Engineers in Walla Walla Washington.
Dave received a telegram from Pat reading “MEET ME” at the airport. Two weeks later they were married. Almost a year later David and John, twin sons, were born December 1968.
While in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, she was a 2nd grade teacher and then school principal. The family traveled extensively. For 13 years they lived and worked in Tabuk, Riyadh and (KKMC) Hafar Al-Batin Saudi Arabia. Holidays were taken with trips to Europe, East Africa, India, China, and Thailand. They returned to Fort Worth, Texas.
Predeceased: Everett Michael Albright was born Sept 27 1971, but passed away November 21, 1972; his grave is in San Antonio Texas. Sister, Nancy Downey Dulniak in Florida.
Her survivors include her husband, David R Albright and her children, David Albright of Bella Vista, Arkansas and John of Sierra Vista, Arizona and 3 grand children Kaiytlin Albright Johnson of Hockley, Texas. Isaac and Kit Albright of Sierra Vista, Arizona.
