Joe was the first person I met when I served with the 237th engineer battalion in Heilbronn Germany. The very first night I was there he took me downtown to a hard rock dance club. It was wild!! The guy was a celebrity, everyone was yelling Joe!!! Ladies were all over him dancing. I remember he had this huge smile, you could not get this guy down and his energy was infectious. To say that he made an impression on me is a complete understatement. My memories of serving with Joe are some of my fondest memories -I never got a chance to reconnect with Joe after serving with him but I have always thought about him and in looking him up I was saddened to find his passing. To his family please know that your Joe was pure light love and happiness to so many people and he was an awesome friend to me in the short amount of time I was around him.
I will always remember the good times we had especially as kids ! My big brother, my protector. I miss you so much. Your sense of humor and your carefree way of living was so you Joe . I will remember everything about you and the lessons I learned from you. Until we meet again . Love you so much. Joanie
