Obituary of Deena Kay Patton-Salinas
Deena Kay Patton-Salinas, age 57, passed away December 3, 2021, due to complications from Covid-19. She was born November 20, 1964, in Arlington, Texas to Harold and Jackie Patton. She eloped and married her longtime friend and love, Enrique Salinas, on April 20, 2001.
Deena loved people and was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma Mya. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh, and she would light up a room. She absolutely loved God’s furry creatures. She would always say it was a labor of love to tend to her horses, chickens, ducks, geese, birds, cats and dogs. She loved gardening and cooking awesome meals with fresh garden picked fruits and veggies for meals to feed her family that she loved so dearly.
Her life was a living example of one of her favorite Bible verses, “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” Ephesians 4:32
Deena is survived by her husband Enrique Salinas and their six children: Chase, Skye, Kale McClintock, Kayela, Breanna, and Alexis Salinas; with two grandchildren Liv Salinas and Ronin Yzaguirre; Her mother Jackie Patton and preceded in death by her father Harold Patton; older sister Glenna Richey and younger sister Jeannie Chandler; and her many aunts uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and her special baby boy, her cat, Chulo. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
