Louis R. Washington a retired Security Officer of 42 years of service from Bell Helicopter Textron Inc, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020. He served as Union President for Local # 256 and International Trustee for SPFPA (Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America). Prior to working for Bell Helicopter, he was in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Encounter Church under the leadership of Bishop Gary Oliver. And served with Covenant of Brotherhood ministries. Louis married Betty on July 30, 1964. Their union was blessed with one son and two daughters. He was a dedicated, relentless, driven, hardworking, encouraging, creative, and loving man, who would do anything for you. Louis loved working on cars. He enjoyed watching the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys on Sunday with his family. Louis was also known as a jokester and loved putting a smile on your face. He leaves to his loving memory his wife of over fifty years Betty; his son, Rodney; and two daughters, Rosalyn and LaTrece. Louis had three brothers, Willis, Kenneth, James (Doris); one sister, Glenda; and one sister-in-law, Doris D; and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins. Visitation: 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 6009 Wedgwood Dr, Fort Worth, TX 76133. Graveside Service: 9 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211. Under an abundance of caution, the family has elected not to have a repass following the service due to Covid 19.
