Daisy Faye Driver passed away peacefully at home in Crowley, Texas surrounded by her family on January 18, 2022. She was 75.
Daisy was born on December 10, 1946, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Lonnie and Corine Williams.
Later in life, she was united with her biological father, David Brewer Winfrey. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana. She studied to become an EEG technician and practiced at Methodist Hospitals Northlake Campus for many years. Daisy was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness for more than 30 years. She was baptized on May 26, 1991, at the Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Romeoville, Illinois. She made many close and personal friends through her walk of faith with Jehovah. She was a gifted cook and baker, a warm and gracious host, an exceptional storyteller, and gardening was one of her favorite pastimes. She fell in love with traveling and was also a huge blues music fan.
She found true love later in life, marrying Lawrence Driver on April 29, 2017.
Daisy is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Corine Williams, and David Brewer Winfrey; brothers: Robert, Hubert, Herbert, Charles, and Daniel Williams; sister, Thelma J. Mobley and step-daughter, Melanie (Harold) Driver-Penn.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Driver; children: Donna (Terrance) Taylor of Fort Worth, Texas, Jason (Tinnisa) Reed of Crowley, Texas, Melissa (Trey) McCray of Lithia Springs, Georgia, Jemea ‘Mea’ Watkins of Marietta, Georgia, and Yolande Chamberlain of Gary, Indiana; sister: Mildred L. Winfrey of Woodbridge, Virginia; brother: Lonnie ‘Duke’ Williams Jr. of Lafayette, Indiana; grandchildren: Kristen Walker, Karlee Walker, JaKane Reed, Corey Warren Jr., Aaliyah Reed, Douglas Barrett III, Brylin McCray, Jace Reed, Taylor Wyatt, Kayla Wyatt and Jerelyn (Shaquille) Stewart; step-children: Stephanie Driver, LaMont Driver (whose wife Lynette is deceased), Jeremy Driver, Kimberly (Anthony) Watkins; five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, and close friends: Theresa, Penny and Lorraine. A virtual memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on February 5, 2022.
