Jean Steele was born in Mineral Wells, Texas on February 25, 1941. She entered God's loving arms on May 5, 2017.

Visitation will be Monday, May 8, 2017 at 10:00am and funeral service celebrating Jean's life will be held at 11:00 am at Altamesa Church of Christ, 4600 Altamesa Blvd., Ft. Worth, Texas 76133. Burial will be at 10:30 am on May 10, 2017  at Dallas-Ft.worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.

Jean met Jimmy Ray Steele in Lubbock, Texas and were childhood sweethearts. They were married on February 22, 1957. They were happily married for 60 years.

Jean was a beautiful wife and mother. She was an excellent hostess, decorator, and loved to make flower arrangements. Jean was a wonderful caretaker. She facilitated and conducted the Alzheimer's support group at church. She loved God and her family above all else.

Jean was preceded in death by her mother, Mary and her husband Paul Allred; her father, Ben and wife Jean Weeks; and her grandson Brandon Steele.

Jean is survived by her loving husband Jimmy Ray Steele; her brother, Rex Weeks and wife Chestine; and sister, Reyna Worley and husband Bill.

Jean is also survived by daughters, Debbie and husband Larry Burton; Linda and husband Terry Smith; sons, Jay and wife Sheila Steele; and Jeff and wife Tamara Steele; Grandchildren: Lori Nabors, Angela Lehman, Brandi Oglesby, Christina Chisholm, C.J. Johnston, Benjamin Steele, Bailey Steele and their families. She had 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

The family wishes to thank and show their greatest appreciation to Bethesda Gardens Memory Care Center and everyone who loved and cared for Jean.
