Harold J. Ard, 76, of Fort Worth died Friday, November 17, 2016 after a lengthy battle with heart disease. No services are planned. Harold was a graduate of Illinois State University and Dominican University. He was library director for the Barrington Public Library and the Arlington Heights Memorial Library in Illinois before moving to Mississippi in 1972 as Director of the Jackson Metro Library System and later as Associate Director of the Rowland Medical Library, University of Mississippi. Harold moved to Fort Worth in 1984. He was a library manager for the Fort Worth Public Library holding positions at the Central Library, Wedgwood Branch, and Southwest Regional. He retired from the City of Fort Worth in 1998 to pursue his lifelong hobby of antiques. Harold is survived by two children, Mark Alan and Teri Ann both in the state of Washington, sister JoAnn Moutrey, Herrick, IL and two brothers, Don of San Antonio and Terry of Lakewood, IL. He was an active member of Arborlawn United Methodist Church.
