Obituary of Penny Elaine Tucker Mullens

Penny Elaine Tucker Mullens entered the presence of the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, after a long-fought, courageous battle with metastasized breast cancer. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at Birchman Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Memorials: In lieu of floral tributes, please consider a donation to the Pregnancy Help Center. Penny Elaine Tucker Mullens was born in Fort Worth November 1954 to Chester and Nancy Tucker. She attended Aledo public schools. She lived her entire life on the family's property in Aledo, including after her marriage to Larry Bryan Mullens in 1972. She dedicated most of the next 40 years to the full-time rearing and education of her eight children. Her spare time was given to lavish hospitality, fervent prayer, and volunteering with various Christian ministries, including serving on the Board of Directors for the Pregnancy Help Center on Camp Bowie. Survivors: Penny is survived by her husband, Larry Mullens; children, Melissa Hawley, Melinda Atkinson, Miranda Maughan, Trey Mullens, Tucker Mullens, Megan Shannon, Taylor Mullens, and Trevor Mullens and their spouses; 10 grandchildren; parents, Chester and Nancy Tucker; and sisters, Betty Scott, Ellen Cullins and Carol McClendon.
