Armando "Tommy" Ruiz, 96, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017.

Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, St. Michael Catholic Church, 3713 Harwood Rd, Bedford.
Rosary: 7 p.m. Monday at the Church.
Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the National Kidney Foundation, kidney.org/support.

Tommy was born on October 6, 1920 in El Paso to Pilar and Aurora Ruiz. He was in The Army Air Corp during WWII and a Prisoner of War in Germany. After the war he played with the Glen Miller Band some of whom were fellow Prisoners of War. Tommy loved to play his trumpet all of his life.

Survivors: Wife of 69 years, Consuelo "Connie" Ruiz; son, David Ruiz and his wife Bertha Alice; daughter, Rita Lewis and her husband Barry; sister, Elvia Gandara; grandchildren, Dominique Esparza, Gretchen Ruiz, and Jacob Ruiz and his wife Lucy; great-grandchildren, Michael Esparza, Matthew Esparza, Mark Esparza, Marie Wright, Gwen Ruiz, and Rory Ruiz; and extended family.
