Obituary of Leta Janette Merriman

Leta Janette Merriman, 84, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2017 from age related causes. 

Graveside Service: 2 pm Monday, Laurel Land Memorial Park, 7100 Crowley Rd, Ft. Worth. 

Janette was born on December 30, 1933 in Granbury to Clive David and Marjorie Carleta Martin. She graduated from Granbury High School, attended Tarleton State, and received her Teaching degree from TCU. She taught Special Education, at elementary schools throughout Tarrant County, most recently at the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD.  

She loved dancing, cruises, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Janette enjoyed her Braums Ice Cream. She was a gardener and she loved her Pomeranians, most of whom were named Precious. 

Janette was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Paul Merriman, and her sons, William Benton Douglass, and Martin David Douglass. 

Survivors include her grandchildren, Billy Douglass and wife Alicia, Paul Martin Douglass and wife Jessica, and Janette Doutaz and husband Jeff; great-grandchildren, Ella, Madelyn, Olivia, Kaleb, and Kameron. She is also survived by her step-son, David P. Merriman, his wife Janet, and grandchildren Brian Merriman and Bailey Merriman of Houston, and Justian Merriman and Jane Merriman of Spokane, WA.
