Dr. Nabil Gabriel Bishara Physician, author, and educator, died on September 3rd, 2017, in Dallas, Texas, after an unexpected illness, surrounded by loving family. He was born in a neighborhood in the region of Cairo, Egypt on October 13, 1937, to biology professor Dr. Gabriel Mikhail Bishara and Violette Guirguis Fahmy. His physician training encompassed orthpedics and physical medicine and rehabilitation.

He was an adventurer of sorts, with physician training on three continents and in multiple states within the USA. He had a passion for primary and secondary education, tirelessly championing instruction for mathematical mastery to anyone who would ask, volunteering as a teacher in multiple settings, with amazing results. In Addition, he published a mathematics education book for fractions mastery in primary grades He was compassionate to the poor, following in his family's legacy of generosity, including seeking to offer free medical care. He cared greatly for his Coptic Christian Church community, both locally and globally.

He joins his father and mother in the hope of eternity. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Angele Bishara of Lubbock, Texas; his son, Dr. Joseph Nabil Bishara and wife Mrs. Kathy Cochran Bishara and grandchildren Philip and Josiah of Indianapolis, Indiana; his son Mr. Anthony "Tony" Nabil Bishara of Rockville, Maryland; his daughter, Dr. Miranda Nabil Bishara and her husband Mr. John McEntee and grandchildren Elena and Luke, of Leawood, Kansas; and his three sisters, Dr. Norma El-Shammaa of Rockville, Maryland, Dr. Nelly Henein of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Dr. Nefertiti Labib of Youngstown, Ohio. He is blessed to have extended family Nieces & Nehpews Natalie ( Emad) & Tarik Henein (Tara) of Canada,   Dr Emile Elshammaa ( Mariam) of Ohio, Michael  El Shammaa ( Nermine Nakhla) Mary elShammaa ( Eric) of Virginia Dr Dina Labib Patterson (Dr Scott ) of PA, Dr Christina Labib Nickels ( Jonathon) Of Tennessee,  Dr Michael Makary of Dallas, Mary Makary (Daniel) of NY, Brother in law of Maher Awad & Fadwa of California,  Awatif & Mamdouh Makary of Dallas, & Fifi & Samy of McKinny, and many friends throughout the world. He is blessed to have extended family and many friends throughout the world.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for all the  support and prayers offered to them in this hard time. As many of us will be traveling, we will only be accepting condolences at the church immediately following the funeral prayers.
