Leeland was born in Roswell, New Mexico to Alton and Mandy (Adams) Dorsett.  He attended primary and secondary school in Beaumont, Texas where he graduated from Beaumont High School. After high school, Leeland served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon leaving the military, he attended junior college in Borger, Texas where he met and married Barbara. They were married for 60 years.  Leeland continued his education at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.  Leeland and Barbara moved to Houston, Texas where he lived and worked until November of 2016. Leeland and Barbara have been living in Fort Worth, Texas since November.  In Houston, Leeland raised his family, owned his own business, PGC Equipment, and touched the lives of hundreds of people.  He was a wonderful neighbor, a great coach and umpire for many young people, and a willing servant in his church. Most importantly he was a wonderful family man with strong unconditional love.  He loved his family with his whole heart, and his children know the Lord and are productive citizens because of his hard work and his daily example.

Survivors: He is survived by his wife, Barbara Dorsett, his children; Steven Mark Dorsett (Maggi), Cathy Bane (Jim), Jennifer Vana, and Beverly Hovorka (Bob).  Still living are his sister, Dee Shultz-Cox (Barry) and his brother, Dub Dorsett (Diane).  He also is survived by his 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, his nieces and nephews and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Mandy Dorsett and his younger brother, Hubert Dorsett.
